This game is over: 3rd quarter Lions - Eagles thoughts

Good thing I have the DVR running, as Lions - Eagles may end up as one of those "Don't delete till I say so" games, joining Justin Verlander's no-hitter.

3rd and 1, and Lions tackle Langston Moore busts up the Westbrook run for a loss!

Westbrook stuffed on 1st down, but McNabb hits Curtis for 12 and a 1st down. How can you not cover a slow, white wide out? It's mystifying!

On 2nd and 8, McNabb hits Wolverine Jason Avant for another 1st down. Swing pass to Westbrook, and he breaks a tackle in the backfield, and takes it 9 yards. A run that bounces outside gets the 1st down, Philly 1st and 10 at the Lions 20. Lions defense is nothing more than a rumor.

McNabb continues nickel and dimeing his way down the field, hitting the TE for 8 more yards. The Lions still can't stop Westbrook, as he picks his way for the 1st down at the 8. Incomplete pass! Only because of a Lions penalty on Fernando Bryant. Philly 1st and goal from the 4.

Incomplete McNabb pass on 1st down, only his 2nd of the game! He had 18 straight completions before that misfire. Definitely video game style football...

On 3rd down from the 2, it's Buckhalter between the tackles, and there is a gaping maw of a hole for him to run through...That was too fucking easy for the Eagles on the goal line. Buckhalter was barely touched on the TD run...

No way the Lions can even make a game of it at this point. Even if the Lions could continue to score, the defense couldn't stop me from gaining 125 yards on the ground. And I suck...

Defensive coordinator Joe Barry should be held accountable for such a lame defensive performance. I wonder how accountable his father-in-law, Sgt. Marinelli, will actually hold him?

Mercifully, the quarter is over with the Eagles winning 49-21.
