Why Detroit sports talk radio blows: Reason #142

Whats the current hot button topic on WDFN? The Red Wings starting the playoffs? No. The Tigers' winning in extra innings? Nope. The NFL draft? Not even close. Don Imus getting the ziggy? Close, but not quite.

The topic being bantered about by The Fan's Mike Stone at 5:40 Thursday afternoon is, "Should Don Imus be kicked out of the broadcasting hall of fame?"

What? The? Fuck? If Bob Wojonowski was on, he's be kicking Stoney's ass.

I didn't think it was possible, but I think sports talk radio has hit a new low.

  1. I honestly don't know how you listen to the local sports talk radio. I just can't. Yesterday when I gave them a chance they were debating whether or not Barry Bonds was an a##-hole. A topic that has no place on DETROIT sports talk radio when three of the local team are currently playing.

  2. I wonder why I end up listening as well. I think it's just out of habit, more than anything. WDFN used to be quite entertaining, but anymore, not so much. At least WXYT stays more on topic, but they aren't that much better.

I'm home all day, so it's either the radio or daytime TV. I refuse to watch daytime TV, so I kill brain cells by tuning in to local sports talk.
