If it gets to the point where the Tigers consider those stiffs, Dave Dombrowski will need to have his head examined.

Chris, that cracked me up!

Anon, we'll have to agree to disagree. Parker is the master of cherry picking and /or ignoring facts to prop up his arguments. This column is just another that's full of hid misinformation. For a top 10 media market, big city paper COLUMNIST to come up with such blatantly simple observations as "The pitching was a bigger problem that the hitting" is just sad. How dumb does he think his readership is to think they don't already know that? The fact that writers like Parker are gainfully employed is a big reason newspapers are dying a slow and agonizing death.

GTW, you should not only be writing columns, but you should be taking over for Dave Dombrowski! You're brilliant!

You think DD reads Parker's tripe, and just sadly shakes his head?Big Alhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08745424963722654158noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20500414.post-15232575246825316942007-11-15T23:52:00.000-05:002007-11-15T23:52:00.000-05:00Detroit seems to attract stupid sports writers. I...Detroit seems to attract stupid sports writers. I'm still laughing over Drew Sharps' analysis that the Lions should have drafted Adrian Peterson- printed the day AP got hurt. Good call, moron. So we have Parker, Sharp AND Mitchie Poo.

What did we do to deserve this?

Parker's column is about as clever as any of us could do. I think we should trade Inge for Kazmir. It would be a great trade for the team, right? And then we could sign A-Rod for 1.3 Million a year, and get Jurrjens back for one of Zumaya's old uniforms.

There. Brilliant analysis. Think I could write for the Det News?History Snarkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14912545029416513061noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20500414.post-88007700817502726132007-11-15T23:32:00.000-05:002007-11-15T23:32:00.000-05:00I read his column and found no criticism with it b...I read his column and found no criticism with it because he laid out all the facts. There are no good free SP available. Sure, we could make a trade, but what have we got left in the way of prospects to trade...??? The Tigers did inquire about Hernandez. He doesn't make a judgement in the whole article, just states the facts. I don't agree with your analysis and I know I'm not dumb.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20500414.post-63235206604515684862007-11-15T17:57:00.000-05:002007-11-15T17:57:00.000-05:00Rob Parker went to school for this stuff.Rob Parker went to school for this stuff.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20500414.post-83871821458538640382007-11-15T16:12:00.000-05:002007-11-15T16:12:00.000-05:00I have to say that it seems that obvious developme...I have to say that it seems that obvious developmental disability is the sole criterion for becoming a columnist or an op-ed writer in these times, but Parker really does take it to new lows. Of his wish list, I'll take the one I've seen pitch several times--Shawn Chacon. This guy has the ugliest delivery I have ever seen. It is double herky-jerky combined with short arming. There is a reason he was never able to duplicate his hot start with the Rockies--he's a terminal arm injury waiting to happen. As bad as Andrew Miller's delivery looks--and his scares the hell out of me every time I see him pitch--Chacon's is worse.

As I see it if Parker keeps up his current level of work he can become either a)Skip Bayless' full-time foil on 1st and Ten or b) the New York Times' permanent "conservative" retard replacing David Brooks.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
